Measuring tools
06.06.2008
Starting with June 2008, Rocast Nord offers to its clients high quality measuring tools produced by SOLA, imported from Austria.SOLA is an Austrian company founded in 1949 which currently consists of three factory units, amounting to a total of 13,000 square meters. SOLA exports 75% of its production to more than 40 countries worldwide.
The SOLA brand offers a wide variety of the following products: spirit levels, edges and screeding levels with or without vials, laser tools, folding rules, short tapes (2, 3, 5, 8, 10m), long tapes (10, 20, 30, 50, 100m) with or without handles, squares and marking products.
Branded spirit levels have a profile weight per meter of at least 500g/liniar meter. SOLA spirit levels weigh between 520g/liniar meter (AV, AVD) and 890g/liniar meter (AP3, APG3).
Branded screeding levels and edges also have a profile weight of at least 650g/liniar meter. SOLA's models weigh between 680g/liniar meter (AL 2606) and 1260g/liniar meter (SLH).
SOLA Austria and Rocast Nord would like to warn the customers of spirit and screeding levels that have a profile weight of 400g/liniar meter or less, respectively of 650g/liniar meter or less! They are not sufficiently robust and resistant for intense use, being easily decalibrated or deformed.
SOLA Austria builds its own vials and uses a patented (since 1969) ultrasonic welding procedure that prevents fluid leaking from the vials.
This enables SOLA to offer a 30-year guarantee with confidence.
The measuring tolerance of a branded level may not exceed 1.0mm/m. SOLA's spirit levels have measuring tolerances between 0.3mm/m (ENW/ENMW) and up to 1mm/m, while its screeding edges have measuring tolerances between 0.5mm/m and 1mm/m.
In addition to their unbeatable precision, SOLA vials are also distinguished by their resistance to breakage or deformation when dropped or hit. The vial fluid is anti-static with very good UV resistance. Most SOLA vials are equipped with a magnifying lense and a luminous backing plate to ensure optimal measuring results even in unfavourable lighting conditions.
Inverted measuring means the use of spirit levels on surfaces that face downwards (such as ceilings) on which the level cannot be placed in its normal position.
All SOLA spirit levels in the aluminium box profile range can be used for inverted measuring also. For this, they offer a measuring tolerance of maximum 1.00mm/m, starting from 0.75mm/m (AP3, APG3). Only precision-manufactured vials can be used for inverted measurement.
